Aims & Scope

Aims and Scope of the Journal

The journal's website has been carefully and in detail, providing a wealth of information about the journal's rationale and importance. The Regional Studies Journal (RSJ) redefines itself as a peer-reviewed academic platform specializing in the fields of human and social sciences, with a particular focus on four core disciplines: contemporary history, political science, law, and economics. While the term "Regional" is often interpreted in a narrow geographical sense, the journal adopts a broader and more analytical understanding of regionalism—as a framework for examining systems, interactions, and transformations within specific socio-political and economic contexts.

In this light, the Middle East region as it the main area of the journal’s specialize researches is not viewed merely as a geographic area, but as a complex and dynamic model of historical change, political structures, legal systems, and economic shifts that hold relevance both regionally and globally.

Through this interdisciplinary approach, the journal aims to strengthen its international scholarly presence by publishing critical, in-depth studies rooted in regional realities while engaging with global academic conversations and contributing to the advancement of theoretical and comparative knowledge in its fields.

The journal aims to:

1. Support rigorous academic research in accordance with international scholarly standards.

2. Encourage comparative and analytical studies on regional issues relevant to the Arab world, the Middle East, and neighboring regions.

3. Promote scholarly dialogue among researchers across related disciplines.

4. Contribute to the formulation of public policies based on research and informed analysis.
