Social support and its relationship to psychological stability among students at the Open College of Education/ Nineveh Center

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the level of social support and psychological stability among the students of the Open Educational College, Nineveh Center, and to identify the level of differences for both social support and psychological stability according to the variables (gender - academic stage), and to identify the relationship between social support and psychological stability among the students of the Open Educational College. The research sample was (217)male and female students from the second and fourth stages. To achieve the research objectives, the researcher prepared a social support scale.
It adopted Al-Khazrajis (2006) measure of technical stability, and after extracting the apparent validity by presenting it to the test, and verifying the stability of the two scales by means of internal consistency and retesting, the data were treated statistically using the SPSS program. The results showed that 181 sample members had a good level of social support and psychological stability, and the absence of It produced statistical significance in the level of both social support and psychological stability according to the variables (gender - educational stage), and there was a positive, positive correlation between social support and psychological stability. In the results, the researcher presented several recommendations and proposals.
