Cognitive Empowerment and Its Relationship with Self- Concept in University Students
Abstract
The current research aims to identify cognitive empowerment among university students, as well as to identify self-concept among university students, and the correlational relationship between cognitive empowerment and self-concept among university students. The researcher adopted the descriptive correlational method. The research sample consisted of (300) male and female students from the population of Al-Mustansiriyah University, from both humanities and scientific specializations, and from the morning studies. The sample was selected using the stratified random sampling method. To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher constructed two scales: the first to measure cognitive empowerment and the second to measure self-concept. The psychometric properties of both scales were verified through face validity and construct validity, as well as calculating reliability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The researcher used some appropriate statistical methods to analyze the data, and the results showed the following:
University students have a good level of cognitive empowerment
