Efficiency of using Cooperative Learning Together Strategy on Certain Characteristics of fourth year Students at History Department College of Education

() (56) . . : ( ) . : . .The aim of the research is to identify the efficiency of using cooperative learning together strategy on certain characteristics of fourth year students at history department college of education . To achieve the aim of the research , the researcher put (8) null hypotheses to compare the averages of the pre and post tests for the group taught using the cooperative strategy regarding the aspects and characteristics of personality . The society were fourth year students at history department , college of education / university of mosul for the academic year 2005/2006 reaching (40) students . The sample (20) students of fourth year / department of history and particularly division (A) to use the cooperative strategy . The experiment began in the second semester with the lecturers using the strategy and lasted for (8) weeks . The researcher made the necessary teaching plans to be given twice a week . The researcher applied (Frayborg ) personality scale of 56 items as a pre-test after verifying its validity and stability . After the experiment ended , the researcher applied the post test scale on the sample to identify the efficiency of this strategy on the personalities of the sample . After collecting and treating the data statistically using T test , the researcher came up with the following results : A Statistically significant difference is found regarding the characteristics or the eight domains of personality ( nerves , aggressiveness , depression , control , calmness , excitement , stop , and socialism ) among the sample members . Finally the researcher came up with a number of recommendations and suggestions one of which was to use this strategy in teaching social science in general and history in particular and to enhance the positive characteristics of personality like sociality , calmness , control for university students .
